MINNAL MURALI (2021)- WHY BRUCELEE BIJI SHOULD BE CELEBRATED?

 “MINNAL EFFECT” is going on everywhere. Much deserved response to such an exceptional and fresh concept.

Why “MINNAL MURALI” became a great success? Never ever have we seen such a relatable super hero!

When we look into other super heroes that we are familiar with, most of them stand out of our real world. “Minnal Murali” creators had really taken a different path. Jaison is definitely one among us. He is our friend, brother or some person that we see in our day to day life. Only peculiarity is that he possesses some boosted abilities. As the plot moves forward, the makers succeed in normalizing his superpowers. Thus the creators were able to keep the realistic touch of Murali’s superhero abilities.

Murali OR Shibu debate is going on everywhere. Although BRUCE LEE BIJI is not very crucial in plot perspective, the much distinct character needs to be celebrated. No one expects such a self-sufficient heroine in an Indian superhero film. Biji is bold, fit, strong and financially independent. A “Biji type character is rare even in normal Indian films.

Heroine gets into some grave danger, and the hero arrives at the precise moment in order to save her. This is a very popular cliché technique, purposefully introduced to glorify the hero. We have seen this many times. Interestingly, Minnal Murali lacks this particular “belittling heroine for boosting hero” technique. That needs to be appreciated. Biji used her own skills and finds her way out of danger. She doesn’t simply wait for “the hero” to arrive and save her.

Biji also shows that being bold doesn’t mean heartless. Her soft side is also well depicted in the movie. Neither she is flawless nor is she dumb. She is rendered as a balanced fusion of almost all the desirable characters in a girl, yet in a very realistic fashion. Even if we isolate her out of this superhero atmosphere, this particular character will shine.

“MINNAL MURALI” does stand out; because everything in this movie is super realistic expect the superhero element.

If sequels are in planning phase, we could really hope that “BRUCE LEE BIJI” will be maintained as the bold independent character that she deserves to be.

IS DARSHANA- ARUN LOVE PLOT IN "HRIDAYAM" UNCONVINCING?

      At least some of us would have had this thought.  Why didn’t Arun go back to Darshana after the patch-up?
